Electrophysiology Professional Interest Area (E-PIA) webinar: Hans Berger's dream: Alzheimer's Disease Affects EEG Rhythms and Vigilance
Speaker: Claudio Babiloni, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy
According to NIA-AA Research A-T-N Framework (Jack et al., 2018, Alzheimer’s & Dementia), the in-vivo assessment of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is based on biomarkers of brain amyloidosis, tauopathy, and neurodegeneration. What about brain Neurophysiology? This talk will discuss converging EEG evidence showing that AD substantially affects cerebral neurophysiological ascending and thalamocortical systems regulating brain arousal and vigilance in wakefulness. Did Hans Berger's dream come true?
When: Thursday, March 11, 9 a.m. CST = 04:00 p.m. CET (Berlin, Paris, Rome)
